Where to register?

studentsCandidates desirous of taking admission to various PG. Courses available at the South Delhi Campus (Except M.A. English, Pol. Science and History) have to apply for admission at the South Delhi Campus, Benito Juarez Road , Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi 110021 itself. Candidates are free to register their names either at North Delhi Campus or at South Delhi Campus or at both the Campuses except in M.A. English, Pol. Science and History.

Admissions in the North and South Delhi Campuses are made independently. Applications for registration are made available at the Registration Centres/Arts Faculty office only. The candidates concerned are issued registration slips which have to be produced at the time of collection of Provisional Admission Slip, if selected for admission.

studentsEligibility : Passed the specific examination with required percentage of marks as detailed in the following pages. In case the last qualifying examination passed by a candidate is not recognized by the Delhi University , such candidates are required to obtain the Eligibility Certificate from the Information Section of Delhi University. This category of candidates may be interviewed by the Head of the Department concerned and there after their cases by referred to the Equivalence Committee.

Age : 20 years before October 1 of the year of admission. However, relaxation of age limit upto a maximum period of one year on the basis of individual merits may be made by the Vice-Chancellor.

studentsProvisional Admission: Candidates who have appeared in the Final examination of their qualifying degree examination but whose results have not been declared or have not received detailed marks certificates are registered provisionally keeping in view their performance at the last examination papers passed. Such candidates shall be required to submit certificates from the University/ College, last attended by them, to the effect that they have appeared in their final examination and their results are declared before October 15 of the year oi admission.

Compartmental candidates

  1. Candidates who have been placed under compartment in one of the papers by the University of Delhi only will be allowed to register themselves for provisional admission to M.A./M.Com. Course if they satisfy the prescribed requirements of the course concerned (by adding the minimum pass marks of the paper in which the student has been placed in compartment to the marks obtained in the remaining papers).
  2. A candidate of Delhi University who has been placed in compartment in one of the subsidiary subjects and is otherwise eligible for admission to M. A. Course concerned shall be permitted (if he/she fulfills the prescribed requirements) to register himself/ herself for provisional admission subject to his/her passing the examination in subsidiary subject in September/October of the year of admission.
  3. The merit of a candidate who has been placed under compartment either in subsidiary subject or in an elective subject in which he/ she is placed under compartment plus the marks in other subjects, if selected, the admission of students falling under categories (i) and (ii) above shall be provisional subject to their passing the compartment examination in September/ October of the year of the admission.

    Students who fail to pass the compartment examination in September/ October are not allowed to continue on rolls and their provisional admission shall be cancelled without any reference to them.

Evening Classes : There is a provision for teaching of the following subjects, in the Evening Classes of North Delhi Campus.

  1. M.A. Urdu Department of Urdu
  2. M.A. Persian Department of Persian
  3. M.A. Punjabi Department of Punjabi
  4. M.A. Hindi, Philosophy Zakir Husain Post-Graduate and Political Science (Evening) College, Jawahar Lai Nehru Marg, New Delhi .
  5. M.Com. S.G.T.B. Khalsa Post-Graduate
    M.A. Sanskrit & History (Eve.) College, Dev Nagar, New Delhi .

Enrolment In Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board : Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board of the University has provision for admission to M.A. English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Arabic, Persian, History and Political Science Courses. For further details and prospectus you may contact/write to the Director, Non-Collegiate Women's Education ' Board, S-26, Tutorial Building , University of Delhi , Delhi 110007.

However, test category candidates in M.A. History and English would be required to get themselves registered alongwith regular students within the prescribed dates of registration at the Arts Faculty Registration Centre.
